About the Author
James D. Meadows is an internationally-recognized 'expert' on Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). He has trained over 25,000 people in the application, analysis and measurement of GD&T. He is a journeyman die maker and a degreed educator who has written thirteen books related to geometric tolerancing. He is an active member of eleven ASME/ANSI and ISO committees and the chairman of the committee on Dimensioning and Tolerancing of Functional Gages (Y14.43). He has been a full-time GD&T trainer and consultant since 1982 for private industry, government organizations (such as DoD, NASA, etc.), government contractors and universities.

I love that this is a guided workbook with answers in the back, so I actually know if I'm doing everything correctly. Overall this is a good reference that I'll probably use over and over.

About the Author

R. Bruce McBride is retired Commissioner of University Police for the State University of New York. He is also retired from his position as professor at Utica College, where he served as Executive Director of the Economic Crime and Justice Studies Division and Director of the Economic Crime Management program. At Utica, he coordinated the criminal justice internship program, which allowed for semester-based study placements in the United States and overseas. Dr. McBride holds bachelor and master’s degrees from the State University of New York at Oswego and master’s and doctoral degrees from the University at Albany. He is a past president of the Criminal Justice Educators Association of New York State.

Excellent historical survey of moral thought

The authors have done a great job of tracing the theme of human fulfillment as they summarize and consider criticisms of some of the main ethical theories of the past 2000 or so years. An excellent and concise introductory book. Great for undergraduate courses, or as a review for more advanced students. Excellent book for the "garage philosopher" who wants to get a handle on the history of moral philosophy.

Puzzled, at least

To start with, more than $25 for a booklet of hardly 150 pages seems to me excessive. And it is obvious that in that number of pages, to cover even half decently material going all the way from Homer Gilligan and Rorty is, in my humble opinion, not only impossible but also irresponsible. That is, unless the text was meant for high-school...Further, the Acknowledgments are, in view of the size of the book, somewhat pompous. When the authors write that..."Finally, we are grateful to our families for their constant and concrete expressions of support and encouragement" one is entitled to wonder if they believe they wrote a treatise of 1000 pages, that took them several years to bring to completion. And, for the live of me, where did they find out that the name "Aquinas" carries a written accent on the last 'a'? Aquin�s? I have checked with philosophers, historians, theologians and even Italians, and nobody would vouch for that version of the name. But they may know better than everybody else, unless they were merely trying to be original and different.

Aside from that, the book is readable in so far as it hardly skims the surface of the issues. The problem is that I bought it with a different expectation. Tough luck!

Good historical approach for a short ethics course

For college students that don't have much time for a lot of reading, this text offers a nice summary of the key philosophical views from the ancients to Rorty and Gilligan. It presents them in a no nonsense historical progression. Some short original paragraphs are included.

Review of "Fuel Cell Fundamentals" by R. O'Hayre et al.

This book is the best one that I could find to introduce the reader to the technology and underlying science of fuel cells. The quality of the presentation is high but yet it is easy to read. The emphasis on the fundamentals is appreciated. The book has discussions of the relevant thermodynamics, transport science, and chemical kinetics in the early chapters with a supporting appendix on quantum-mechanical issues. Then, it addresses modeling and characterization of fuel cells and fuel-cell systems. Environmental impact is also addressed in the last chapter. The book relies on both mathematics and physical arguments to present the concepts and information. A student at the senior level or graduate level in a program of engineering, physics, or chemistry should have no difficulty with this book. Problem exercises are suggested in the book. Consequently, it can be used as either a textbook or reference book.

The book is an interesting one as introduces the fundamentals of fuel cell theory. I do recommend the book for those who are initiating their studies in this subject. The book is well written and organized.

Provides clear, interesting overview

This book does a fabulous job of providing a clear, interesting overview of fuel cells. Without assuming any previous knowledge, the book introduces the reader to the necessary fuel cell science, including thermodynamics, charge and mass transport, and reaction kinetics. The book also introduces the five types of fuel cells (PEMFC, PAFC, AFC, MCFC, SOFC) and gives the reader a good understanding of the characteristics, advantages and disadvtanges to each one, allowing for easy comparison. As a student, this textbook seemlessly guided me through the fuel cells class and left me with a strong, deeper understanding of fuel cells (and an ability to intelligently discuss them!). I still reference my textbook frequently and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn about fuel cells.

El libro aburrido pero el servicio fue excelente

Le tengo que dar las estrellas al vendedor porque me lleg� enseguida y en perfectas condiciones.

Pero referente al libro tengo que decir que me lo recomendaron como algo fuera de serie, me lo le� del principio al fin, buscando la raz�n de la recomendaci�n, solo puedo decir que es tedioso y aburrido.
Se lo recomiendo a aquellos que quieren tener datos de c�mo sobrevivir en el campo sin recursos... tiene muchos datos interesantes que van uno detr�s de otro, sobre todo recetas de cocina con las propiedades de las hiervas y frutas silvestres... y animales salvajes... nada de lo dem�s sirve, porque al no tener ning�n tipo de im�genes, las explicaciones de c�mo hac�a ciertas cosas con las ramas, quedan en el aire.
No creo que tampoco un ni�o se sienta atra�do por este libro porque no tiene aventura, ni tensi�n ni nada interesante que los tenga amarrado a la historia del jovencito que se fue a la monta�a para salir de la ciudad... las an�cdotas no tienen continuidad, salta de una cosa a la otra sin sentido dejando colgado a uno sin respuesta. No es un Huckleberry Finn, es una historia tan tonta e incre�ble que hasta un ni�o la cuestionar�a.
El libro no tiene magia es solo un sue�o apilonado, no tiene gancho y tiene un final inesperado que acaba matando lo poco que hubo de historia.

There aren't any words in this. It is just coloring, but from the pictures you can kind of figure out that what she's wearing might not be appropriate and you can talk about it. Then the next page will be some ideas for her and then there will be a picture of the same girl wearing something more flattering and modest, yet in style. My fashionable 7 year old is appreciating this coloring book and we've already had many conversations about what is or isn't okay for her to wear. She tends to like things that are too small for her because her favorite clothes are the ones that she will eventually grow out of! Anyway, this is sweet and a cute little size and great for fashion loving people. It's thought provoking but not pushy in it's opinions.

About the Author
Betty Roe is Professor Emerita at Tennessee Technological University. She formerly was the Director of the Ph.D. in Exceptional Learning Program and Professor of Curriculum and Instruction. She earned her Ed.D. at the University of Tennessee in Curriculum and Instruction with Reading emphasis. She is the senior author of SECONDARY SCHOOL LITERACY INSTRUCTION, 10th Edition; INFORMAL READING INVENTORY, 8th Edition; and TEACHING READING IN TODAY'S ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, 11th Edition; all published by Cengage Learning.

Sandra Hope Huddleston Smith is an assistant professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction and Director of Teacher Education and Rural Services at Tennessee Technological University. She received her M.A. in Special Education from Tennessee Tech in 1981, and a Specialist in Education degree in Reading/Curriculum from Tennessee Tech in 1989.

I needed it for a class. It served its purpose. It was not very enlightening, or interesting, but that is just personal taste. I used this instead of the newer edition to save money, and it worked well.
